Strength in Stillness

Strength in Stillness

In today’s world of noise, speed, and constant motion, stillness seems like weakness. The pressure to “do something” is everywhere — but what if your greatest strength is found in being still before God?

Exodus 14:14 says:

“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

Let that sink in. The Creator of the universe is saying: “Stand down. I’ve got this.”

Sometimes, we fight battles that were never ours to begin with. We try to fix people, control outcomes, and force solutions. We exhaust ourselves trying to be heroes in stories where we were only called to be witnesses. But when we finally pause and trust, we give God room to move.

Stillness is not passivity — it’s radical trust.
It’s declaring with your heart and actions that God is able, even when you’re not. It’s letting Him be the Shepherd while you simply follow.

When you choose stillness in God:
  • He calms your storms.
  • He clears your path.
  • He renews your strength.

It’s in those quiet moments that your faith matures, your heart heals, and your purpose becomes clearer.

Prayer
Father, teach me to be still before You.
Help me to trust You even when things feel out of control.
Remind me that You are fighting for me, and that Your power is made perfect in my stillness.
Calm my anxious heart, and lead me to quiet waters today.
In Jesus’ name, Amen
